In today’s competitive poultry industry, every advantage counts. Whether you’re raising breeders, layers, or broilers, optimizing bone strength, eggshell integrity and overall flock welfare are critical for productivity and profitability.

That’s where Poulsil® comes in — a scientifically-formulated, bioactivated silicium (Si) additive developed for poultry feed to deliver measurable results.

What is Poulsil®?

Poulsil® is a patented mesoporous-silica based formulation that ensures high bioavailability of silicium.

Key points:

  • Delivers bioactive silicium that supports collagen synthesis, bone mineralisation and connective tissue integrity.
  • Designed for poultry (breeders, layers and broilers) to enhance both welfare and production performance.
  • Compatible with existing feeding programs: easy to integrate into feed regimes.
How It Works – The Science Behind It
  • Collagen synthesis: Silicium plays an essential role in formation of collagen and connective tissue. By providing a bioavailable form, Poulsil® supports better structural architecture in bones and shells.
  • Bone mineralisation: Improved bone density and reduced risk of fractures or leg issues in birds.
  • Eggshell & shell-membrane strength: Enhanced static stiffness and higher rupture force in eggshells result in stronger shells, reduced incidence of cracked or shell-less eggs, and improved hatchability in breeders.
Why Choose Poulsil®?
  • Scientifically validated: backed by trials and research.
  • Easy to integrate: adds to your feed program without major disruption.
  • Measurable welfare gains: stronger bones and shells lead to reduced losses and improved animal welfare.
  • Economic impact: fewer cracked eggs, reduced culling, improved productivity = better margin.
  • Global applicability: suited for breeders, layers and broilers in diverse production settings.
Proven Benefits and Trial Results

Here are some of the compelling outcomes from field trials:

  • In one Belgian broiler-breeder trial (22 – 30 weeks), the Poulsil® group had a cracked egg rate of 1.78% compared with 2.67% in the control.
  • Improved laying percentage in broiler breeders: Control 86.5% vs Poulsil® 87.6% (weeks 30–39).
  • Laying percentage in a commercial layer trial in the Philippines: Control 90.18% vs Poulsil® 90.32% (weeks 52–57).
  • In one broiler-breeder trial in Belgium (22 – 60 weeks), DOC/hen placed was 165.3 in the Poulsil® group compared to 161.0 in the control group. Poulsil® group had fewer cracked eggs, higher laying percentage and better hatchability.
  • Increased eggshell static stiffness: treatment groups showed better shell resilience than controls.
  • Better feed conversion and overall performance – healthier birds, stronger bones.
Application & Recommendations

Suggested use:

  • Include Poulsil® in feed for breeders, layers and broilers at 150 g/ton of feed
  • Ideal to start at key production phases: early growth, peak lay, or shell-quality risk periods.
  • Combine with a well-balanced diet, good management practices and proper housing for maximal effect.
